CHAPTER 292 An act to establish a graded school in Lumberton school district, number seventy, for white children. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :
That the board of county commissioners of Robeson county shall submit to the qualified voters of Lumberton school district known as district number seventy for white children in said county, on the third Thursday in April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, under such rules and regulations as said board may prescribe, whether an annual assessment shall be levied therein for the support of a graded public school for the white children in said school district. Each voter shall vote a written or printed ballot with the words, for school or no school. And said election shall be conducted under the same rules as are prescribed by law for the election of members of the general assembly.
