CHAPTER 292 An act to establish a graded school in Lumberton school district, number seventy, for white children. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :
The special assessments levied and collected from the taxable property of white persons and white polls, shall be expended for a graded public school for white children of both sexes between the ages of six and twenty-one years in said school district, and the special assessments levied and collected from the taxable property and polls of colored persons shall be expended for the benefit of the public school for the colored children residing in the colored school district in which said assessments are levied and collected.
