CHAPTER 74 ' Ab act to authorize the town of Shelby to issue bonds. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :
That in case the election provided for in this act shall result in favor of bonds, then the trustees aforesaid shall proceed at once to procure sites in the town of Shelby, and erect thereon suitable school buildings for the white and colored races, separately, as in their judgment, according to the needs and requirements of each race. That the trustees aforesaid shall have control and general supervision of the property acquired under this act, and shall provide for the conduct of schools therein under such rules and regulations as they may adopt. They shall meet within ten days after the election provided for in this act, and organize by electing a president and a secretary, and make rules and regulations for subsequent election of officers and their own government.
