CHAPTER 74 ' Ab act to authorize the town of Shelby to issue bonds. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :

That the trustees aforesaid shall have the right to control the site and buildings of the present academy in the town of Shelby, and the title thereto is hereby vested in them and their successors, and they shail have the right to improve the same by erecting other buildings, etc., for the use of a school for the white race, or to sell the same and apply the proceeds of such sale in the purchase of sites and erecting and furnishing buildings for schools for the white race, and make title to the same in fee to the purchaser; and any laws heretofore enacted vesting the title in any other person or persons, or giving control of same to any other person or persons, are hereby repealed.
