CHAPTER 299 An act to amend the insurance law. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact : That the insurance law of this state be amended by adding thereto the following :

Every agent of any insurance company authorized to do business in this state shall be required to obtain annually from the secretary of state a certificate under the seal of his office, showing that the company for which he is agent is licensed to do business in this state and that he is an agent of said company and duly authorized to do business for it. And every such agent shall exhibit the said certificate to every person from whom he shall solicit insurance. Any failure to exhibit such certificate shall render said agent liable, on conviction before a justice of the peace, to a fine of five dollars or imprisonment for ten days for each offence. And the said agent shall pay to the secretary of state the sum of fifty cents for the said certificate, There shall be no charge for the seal affixed to such certificate.
