CHAPTER 343 An act to establish graded schools in the town of Washington. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :

That it shall be the duty of the said Washington public schoo] committee to establish and maintain separate graded public schools for the white and the colored children of the said town of Washington, and to appropriate all the funds derived from the special taxes hereinbefore provided and from all other sources for the public schools of the said town, so as to give equal school terms and equal school facilities to the two races.
