CHAPTER 343 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF HAMLET TO ISSUE BONDS AND LEVY SPECIAL TAXES FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL PURPOSES. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
The said Board of Trustees shall apportion the moneys raised or received for educational purposes in the town of Hamlet between the two races so as to equalize school facilities between white and colored children; and they shall maintain a school for each race for so long a term each year as the funds raised and received under this act will allow; and all children resident in said town, between the ages of six and twenty-one vears, shall be admitted to said schools free of tuition. The subjects and studies taught in said schools shall be those taught in the regular public schools of the State, and such other branches as the Board of Trustees shall adopt.
