CHAPTER 321 AN ACT TO CREATE A GRADED SCHOOL IN CERTAIN SPECIFIC TERRITORY IN ALAMANCE COUNTY. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That the said Board of Trustees shall, on the first Monday in May next ensuing, submit to the qualified voters of said district above created, the question of establishing a graded school in said district. The said Trustees shall give thirty days notice of said election by a notice thereof published in some newspaper in Alamance County, and by notice posted at four places in said district. The said Board of Trustees shall select three men, qualified voters of said district, one of whom they shall appoint registrar, and the other two poll-holders, to hold said election. These three shall hold said election and shall be governed in their acts in all particulars as to registration of voters, challenges, etc., by the same rules and regulations as provided in the election of county officers, and the qualified voters of said district shall vote at said election on the first Monday in May next ensuing tickets on which shall be written or printed the words For Graded School, or Against Graded Schools, and the result of the election shall be declared by the same rules that govern the election of county officers. The said election shall be held at the school-house for the white race in said territory.
