CHAPTER 63 AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF BENSON, NORTH CAROLINA. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
Registration books shall be supplied to the registrar by the board of commissioners of the town of Benson at the expense of the town. It shall be the duty of the said registrar to open his books at the time and place named by the board of commissioners at least thirty days before the day of election herein provided for, and to register therein the names of all persons applying for registration and entitled to register and vote under the general election laws; and to keep the names of the white voters separate and apart from the names of the colored voters, and to mark opposite each name the street on which the voter resides in the town.
