CHAPTER 602 AN ACT TO PROVIDE SEPARATE SCHOOLS FOR THAT RACE OF PEOPLE IN GASTON TOWNSHIP, NORTHAMP- TON COUNTY, KNOWN AS THE PORTUGUESE. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
That the race of people known as Portuguese in Gaston Township, Northampton County, shall have a separate school from the white or colored schools in said county: Provided, said Portuguese shall furnish a suitable building situate in Gaston Township for said school, said building to be approved by the county board of education for said county of Northampton.
