CHAPTER 242 AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FIVE, PUBLIC LAWS OF ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN, ENTITLED AN ACT TO PREVENT FRAUD ON MERCHANTS. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That Section one of Chapter one hundred and eightyfive, Public Laws of one thousand nine hundred and eleven, be, and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the period at the end of Section one and inserting a semicolon in lieu thereof and by adding the following: Provided this Act shall not apply to merchandise sold upon a written contract which is signed by the purchaser.
