CHAPTER 126 AN ACT RELATING TO TEMPORARY QUARTERS FOR GOVERN- MENTAL AGENCIES OF GUILFORD COUNTY PENDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW GOVERNMENTAL COMPLEX. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Guilford County proposes to construct new governmental buildings; and WHEREAS, it will be necessary to establish temporary quarters for governmental functions of Guilford County; and WHEREAS, this will necessitate securing temporary quarters for Guil- ford County governmental purposes: Now, therefore, The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The Board of County Commissioners of Guilford County is hereby authorized to secure by lease or otherwise and provide necessary temporary space for any governmental purpose of Guilford County within this County pending the construction of the governmental buildings. Such quarters so provided may be designated by the Board of Commissioners as the Guilford County Courthouse. It shall be lawful for the Board of County Commissioners to designate temporary quarters without designating these quarters as the Guilford County Courthouse. It shall be lawful in 182 these quarters so provided to hold sessions of court and any and all other hearings which are required to be heard at the County Courthouse. It shall be lawful to perform any of the governmental functions of Guilford County in these temporary quarters, and the quarters so designated are not required to be located in a single building but may be located in one or more buildings.
