CHAPTER 164 AN ACT TO CREATE THE NORTH CAROLINA ARTS COUNCIL. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
Appointment of Members. There is hereby created in the Department of Administration the North Carolina Arts Council. The term arts includes, but is not limited to: music, dance, drama, creative writing, architecture and allied fields, painting, sculpture, photography, crafts, television, radio, and the execution and exhibition of such major art forms. The Council shall consist of 24 members, to be appointed by the Governor from among the citizens of North Carolina. The Governor shall appoint the Chairman, upon nomination by the Council. The Council may elect other officers as deemed necessary.
