CHAPTER 178 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE PERSON COUNTY BOARD OF EDU- CATION TO EXECUTE TO THE CITY OF ROXBORO A QUITCLAIM DEED FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE CENTRAL SCHOOL LOT AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF ROXBORO TO LEASE SAID PROPERTY FOR FIFTY-FIVE YEARS TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ERECT A POST OFFICE BUILDING THEREON. WHEREAS, the City of Roxboro is the beneficial owner of a certain lot of land known as Central School Lot, and it is necessary for the Person County Board of Education to execute a quitclaim deed to the City of Roxboro in order to perfect the title to said lot; and WHEREAS, this situation was brought about by reason of the fact that prior to this time the public school system of all units in Person County were merged into the Person County Board of Education; and WHEREAS, in order to bring about the plans and projects agreed upon and for adequate, good and sufficient considerations, in order to perfect said plans and projects, it is necessary that the City of Roxboro should pay to the County of Person the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) and that the City of Roxboro should be authorized to 218 lease said lot of land for a period of fifty-five years to the Federal Government for the purpose of erecting thereon the post office building: Now, therefore, The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification. In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 11th day of April, 1967 H. B. 327
