CHAPTER 235 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE SHERIFF OF CURRITUCK COUNTY TO APPOINT DEPUTY SHERIFFS, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO APPOINT DEPUTY TAX COLLECTORS, AND TO FIX THEIR COMPENSATION AND THE COMPENSATION OF THE SHERIFF AND DEPUTY SHERIFFS OF CURRITUCK COUNTY. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
The Board of County Commissioners of Currituck County is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to appoint deputy tax collectors and to fix their salaries and compensation. The Board of County Commissioners of Currituck County is further authorized and empowered to fix the salary and compensation of the Sheriff and deputy sheriffs of Currituck County. The Sheriff of Currituck County shall appoint the deputy 278 sheriffs of the county subject to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners.
