CHAPTER 237 AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 282, SESSION LAWS OF 1965, AND CHAPTER 115, SESSION LAWS OF 1963, THE SAME BEING THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LUMBERTON. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 8(a) of Article III of Chapter 115, Session Laws of 1968, is amended by deleting all of the second sentence from the end thereof, which reads as follows: No ballot cast in the election for the City Council shall be counted if the voter has failed to vote for a number of candidates at least equal to the number of vacancies on the City Council to be filled by the election, and ballots for any lesser number shall be treated as spoiled.
