CHAPTER 261 AN ACT TO REORGANIZE AND MERGE THE ANSON COUNTY AD- MINISTRATIVE SCHOOL UNIT, THE WADESBORO CITY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT AND THE MORVEN CITY SCHOOL AD- MINISTRATIVE UNIT INTO ONE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT UNDER ONE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR ALL THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN ANSON COUNTY. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The supplemental tax heretofore authorized and levied for the benefit of the public schools located in the Wadesboro City Administrative Unit shall continue to be levied and collected according to the previous authorization and the proceeds of said tax levy shall continue to be used to increase and enrich the public school program and for the benefit of the children of said Wadesboro City Administrative Unit in which said supplemental tax is levied. The Commissioners of the Town of Wadesboro, the governing authority of said Town of Wadesboro, shall nominate two members and the Board of Commissioners of Anson County shall nominate one member and all three nominees shall be sent to the Anson County Board of Education who shall appoint said nominees as members of a district school committee for the territory in the Wadesboro City Administrative Unit. Each of said members of said school committee shall be appointed for a term of two years, and said school committee shall submit annually a budget to the Anson County Board of Education as to the expenditures of the proceeds from said supplemental tax levy and shall also annually make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners of Anson County as to what portion, if any, of said supplemental tax shall be levied. In this connection said school committee shall perform the budgetary and fiscal functions as provided by public law for a school committee and these functions only.
