CHAPTER 261 AN ACT TO REORGANIZE AND MERGE THE ANSON COUNTY AD- MINISTRATIVE SCHOOL UNIT, THE WADESBORO CITY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT AND THE MORVEN CITY SCHOOL AD- MINISTRATIVE UNIT INTO ONE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT UNDER ONE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR ALL THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN ANSON COUNTY. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The Anson County Board of Education which shall assume authority on July 1, 1967, shall at its first meeting elect a superintendent for a two-year term expiring July 1, 1969 At the same time the said Board is authorized and empowered, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, to elect such assistant superintendents, associate superintendents and other personnel as shall be required for the official administration and operation of the schools administered by the Anson County Board of Education. The term of office and the period of service for all personnel elected then and thereafter shall be subject to and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 115 of the General Statutes, as amended, and the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education governing school personnel, except that after the initial election for the superintendent of schools the 313 superintendent shall be elected on or about the first Monday in April, 1969, and biennially thereafter, for a term of two years, beginning July first next following his election.
