CHAPTER 291 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE TOWN OF BREVARD TO DETERMINE WHETHER AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL STORE SHALL BE ESTABLISHED IN SAID TOWN AND TO PRESCRIBE THE METHOD OF OPERATION AND THE DISPOSITION OF THE NET PROFITS THEREOF. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Brevard may on its own motion, and shall upon a petition to said Board signed by at least fifteen per cent -15% of the registered and qualified voters of the Town of Brevard, order an election to be held on the question of whether or not a Town Alcoholic Beverage Control Store may be operated in the Town of Brevard, and if a majority of the votes cast in such election shall be for the operation of such a store, it shall be legal for an Alcoholic Beverage Control Store to be set up and operated in the Town of Brevard, but if a majority of the votes cast in said election shall be against the operation 336 of said Alcoholic Beverage Control Store, no such store shall be set up or operated in the Town of Brevard under the provisions of this Act.
