CHAPTER 343 AN ACT TO ASSURE ADEQUATE AND CONTINUING AMBULANCE SERVICES TO THE CITIZENS OF NORTH CAROLINA. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 130-3 of the North Carolina General Statutes is hereby amended as follows: -1 by adding a new subsection to be designated (a) and to read as follows: (a) Ambulance includes any privately or publicly owned vehicle that is specially designed, constructed, or modified and equipped and is intended to be used for and is maintained or operated for the transportation upon the streets or highways in this State of persons who are sick, injured, wounded or otherwise incapacitated or helpless. Vehicles designed primarily for rescue operations and which do not ordinarily transport persons upon the streets or highways are excluded. -2 by redesignating all present subsections accordingly.
