CHAPTER 397 AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 279 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1947 TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS OF ORANGE COUNTY TO CONDUCT ELECTIONS OF THE TOWN OF HILLS- BOROUGH. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Chapter 279 of the Session Laws of 1947 is hereby amended by inserting therein, between Sections 11 and 12, two new Sections to be designated as Sections 11A and 11B, respectively, and to read as follows: Sec. 11A. In the event a second election is required pursuant either to Section 10 or to Section 11 or to both, then there shall be no registration of voters between the dates of the first and second elections. Persons whose qualifications to register and vote mature after the day of the first election and by the day of the second election may register on the day of the second election and when thus registered shall be entitled to vote in the second election. Sec. 11B. None of the provisions of Article 3 of Chapter 160 of the General Statutes shall be applicable to the Town of Hillsborough.
