CHAPTER 430 AN ACT TO BROADEN THE HOME RULE POWERS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF BURKE COUNTY. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The first sentence of Section 1 of Chapter 1095 of the 1959 Session Laws is hereby amended to read: The Board of County Commissioners of Burke County is authorized, in its discretion, to fix the annual compensation of the Sheriff and Register of Deeds in identical amounts of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) each per year.
