CHAPTER 6 AN ACT TO APPORTION THE NORTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRE- SENTATIVES IN THE EVENT THE UNITED STATES CONSTITU- TION IS AMENDED TO PERMIT REPRESENTATION OTHER THAN BY POPULATION IN ONE HOUSE OF A BICAMERAL LEGISLATURE. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Should such amendment to the United States Constitution require approval by the voters of a state of any plan placing one house of a bicameral legislature on other than population before the same shall become effective then the Governor of North Carolina shall forthwith call an election and submit the re-establishment of the North Carolina House of Representatives as the same appears in the 1964 Replacement Volume 8B of the General Statutes of North Carolina to the voters for approval or disapproval.
