CHAPTER 153 AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR A NONPARTISAN ELECTION OF THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

In the election held in 1968, the two persons receiving the 202 highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of six years. In the election held in 1970, the two persons receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of six years. In the election held in 1972, the person receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for six years. Biennially thereafter, the number of candidates equal to the number of members to be elected, who receive the highest number of votes, shall be declared elected for a term of six years. The persons elected to the Board of Education shall take office on July 1st in the year elected, and shall serve until their successors shall be elected and qualified.
