CHAPTER 338 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF ALBEMARLE TO APPROPRI- ATE NONTAX FUNDS TO THE STANLY COUNTY VOCATIONAL WORKSHOP. WHEREAS, the Stanly County Vocational Workshop, Inc. is a non- stock and nonprofit corporation created and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of North Carolina, as contained in Chapter 55A of the General Statutes of North Carolina; and WHEREAS, the purpose of said corporation is to provide vocational training and employment for persons who are so handicapped by reason of physical or mental condition or from multiple disabilities that the handicapped person cannot compete in the regular job market; and WHEREAS, said corporation now maintains and operates a sheltered workshop in Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina, for the training of such handicapped persons; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Albemarle de- sires authority, in its discretion, to appropriate from nontax revenue sources the sum of four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) to defray the costs of maintaining and operating said workshop for the aforesaid purposes; and WHEREAS, said Board of Commissioners of the City of Albemarle desires authority, in its discretion, to appropriate from nontax revenue sources annually, subsequent to the fiscal year 1966-1967, a sum not exceeding four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) to defray the costs of oper- ating and maintaining said workshop as aforesaid: Now, therefore, The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.
