CHAPTER 354 AN ACT TO AMEND ARTICLE 3A, CHAPTER 69 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES, TO ALLOW THE TOWN OF CAMERON TO FORM A RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Notwithstanding provisions to the contrary in Article 3A, Chapter 69 of the General Statutes, the Town of Cameron and the surrounding area adjacent thereto is hereby authorized to form a rural fire protection district, to be known as Cameron Rural Fire Protection District, Inc., within the towns corporate limits and the surrounding area outside such limits and more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point 0.2 mile West of Beaver Creek on Highway No. 27; thence in a northerly direction to a point 0.1 mile West of Green Grove Church on Lee-Moore County Line Road; thence northerly to intersection of Lemon Springs and Holt Road; thence northwesterly to Rocky Fork Church on old U. S. Highway No. 1; thence northwesterly to a point on U. S. Highway No. 1, 0.4 mile North of intersection of Blakely Road and U. S. Highway No. 1; thence in a westerly direction to a point 0.4 mile West of intersection of Blakely Road and U. S. Highway No. 1 on Blakely Road; thence in a westerly direction to a point on White Hill Road 0.1 mile North of intersection of Kelly Road and White Hill Road; thence in a southwesterly direction to the intersection of Lambs Grove Road and Wicker Road; thence southwesterly to Herds Creek on old Carthage Road; thence in a southerly direction to Herds Creek on Highway No. 27; thence in a southeasterly direction to a point on Womack Road 0.6 mile southeast of intersection of Womack Road and Highway No. 27, continuing in a southeasterly direction to intersection of Edmonds Road and Womack Road, continuing in a southeasterly direction to intersection of Womack Road and U. S. Highway No. 1 at Rouths Station; thence in an easterly direction to a point on Piney Wood Church Road 1 mile North of intersection of Thomas Road and Piney Wood Church Road; thence northeasterly to a point on Hunt Road 0.25 mile South of intersection of Betty Cameron Road and Hunt Road; thence northeasterly to point of BEGINNING. All other provisions in Article 3A, Chapter 69 of the General Statutes including those on election, taxation, administration of funds, etc., shall apply. Moore and Lee Counties shall share costs and taxes as provided in G. S. 69-25.9.
