CHAPTER 836 AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND RE- PAIR OF THE PUBLIC ROADS OF ROBESON COUNTY, AND TO LEVY A SPECIAL TAX THEREFOR. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That in order to perform all the duties heretofore performed and to exercise all the powers heretofore exercised by the Board of County Commissioners of Robeson County in relation to the public roads of the said county, under the laws heretofore in existence, and certain other duties as fixed in this act, there shall be and there is hereby created a body to be known as the Board of Road Supervisors of Robeson County. Such board shall consist of three members, who shall be elected by the General Assembly at its present session, and biennially thereafter. Said board shall be a body politic and corporate, may sue and be sued, adopt a common seal, and do any and all things which may be necessary for the accomplishment of the purposes specified in this act, and may purchase and hold property which may be necessary for the exercise of its powers.
