CHAPTER 18 An act to authorize the commissioners of Halifax county to fund and pay the debt of said county which has not been funded. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact ;

In order to pay the interest on said bonds and to raise a sinking fund for the payment of the principal, the commissioners and justices of said county at their joint meeting to be held on the first Monday of June of each of the years one thousand eight hundred and eightyfive, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, and one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, shall levy annually a special tax on the taxable property in said county, both real and personal, equal to six cents on each hundred dollars worth of property, and eighteen cents on each taxable poll.
