CHAPTER 28 AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE LIBERTY-PIEDMONT INSTITUTE. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That the purpose and object of said corporation shall be the education of boys and girls of the white race, and to that end the trustees and principal thereof may from time to time adopt and prescribe such courses of study as will lead to such preparation as may be required for entrance into any of the colleges of said State and for any of the ordinary business callings or pursuits of life; and may grant certificates or diplomas of proficiency in any given course.
