CHAPTER CXXII. AN ACT TO SECURE A BETTER DRAINAGE OF THE LOW LANDS ON LOWER CREEK, IN THE COUNTIES OF BURKE AND CALD- WELL.

Be it further enacted, That all monies arising from failure to work on said Creek, and all penalties collected under the provisions of this Act, shall be paid over to the overseer of the section in which it may arise, and by him shall be expended in improving the channel of said Creek ; and any overseer failing or neglecting to perform the duties required by this Act, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, on conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than ten, and not more than twenty, dollars : Provided, That no person shall be required, without his consent, to serve as an overseer more than one term of two years at any one time.
