CHAPTER VII. 4N ACT PROVIDING FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE INSANE ASYLUM.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the sum of forty thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the Insane Asylum, for the support of the same, for the fiscal year 1866 and 1867, and a like sum of forty thousand dollars for the support of the same for the fiscal year 1867 and 1868, and the Board of Supervisors of said Insane Asylum are hereby authorized and empowered to draw any part or all of said sum of forty thousand dollars, and no more, for the year for which they are appropriated: Provided, however, That it the number of patients, treated, in said Insane Asylum, shall exceed in number the annual average of one hundred and sixty, then and in that cave, the Governor, as ex-officio chairman of said board, by and with the advice and consent o! the said board, in general meeting assembled, may be and is hereby authorized to draw from the State Treasury a sum equal to two hundred and fifty dollars for each and every patient treated in said Asylum, above the annual average of one hundred and sixty, for either of the aforementioned fiscal years 1866 and 1867 and 1867 and 1868
