CHAPTER 58 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AND EMPOWER THE TOWN OF FAY- ETTEVILLE TO COMPROMISE ITS INDEBTEDNESS, Wuereas, The debt of the town of Fayetteville is so great that it cannot be paid in full ; AND WHEREAS, To enforce collection of the same would be very burthensome and cause great distress among the citizens of said town; AND WHEREAS, In all proper cases it is the duty of the sovereign to afford all proper constitutional relief. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That any executor, administrator, guardian or other fiduciary may make compromise as above provided without becoming liable for any breach of his or her bond, or violation of the trust, or devastavit of the estate, in hisor her hands on account of such compromise.
