CHAPTER 200 AN ACT TO REVISE AND CONSOLIDATE THE PUBLIC SCHOOL LAW AND TO MAKE MORE EFFICIENT THE SYSTEM OF PUBLIC IN: STRUCTION IN THIS STATE. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :
The school committee of each school district shall be a body corporate by the name and style of The School Committee of District No……, in the county of Seances: , (as the case may be,) and in that name shall be eapable of purchasing and holding real and _ personal estate, and of selling and transferring the same for school purposes, and of prosecuting and defending suit for or against the corporation. All conveyances to school committees shall be to them and their successors in office.
