CHAPTER 238 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF WASH INGTON COUNTY TO LEVY A SPECIAL TAX, The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :

That the board of commissioners of Washington county be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to levy a special tax not to exceed the sum of five thousand dollars, one-half of which to be levied on all subjects of taxation in said county, in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, at the time of the levying of other taxes under the general law, and the other half shall be levied in the same manner in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two. ‘
