CHAPTER 242 An act to establish a public road in Wilkes and Ashe counties, The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
That the grade of said road shall be such as the said road commissioners shall determine, and that said commissioners shall see that all the water drains are properly ditched and covered so as to prevent ice and mud, and that the said road commissioners shall receive for their services such amounts as the county commissioners of Wilkes and Ashe respectively may allow, to be paid by the counties in which said commissioners reside.
