CHAPTER 238 An act to amend the charter of the town of High Point. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

They may also appoint a city engineer, a city attorney or attorneys, employ detectives, and offer rewards for the capture and conviction of criminals, and to exercise like power in the premises in order to bring offenders against the laws of the state and city ordinances, when the offence is committed within the city limits, to justice, and to use any funds belonging to the city not otherwise appropriated to carry out this purpose.
