CHAPTER 525 An act allowing an increase of taxation for public graded schools in Charlotte. . The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact: .

That said election shall. be conducted by the same judges and in the same manner as is provided for the election of a mayor and aldermen of said city, and the ballots shall be counted and the result declared in the same manner as is now provided for the election of the mayor and board of aldermen; and if a majority of the ballots shall be found to be in favor of the ratification of this act, then this act shall be immediately in full force and effect, but in case the majority shall be found against its ratification it shall be then of no effect.
