CHAPTER 163 An act to amend chapter three hundred and fifty-two, private laws of one thousand eight and ninety-five, entitled an act to amend, revise and consolidate the charter of the city of Asheville. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The board of aldermen of the city of Asheville, at their first regular meeting in June, in the year 1897, shall elect four regular practicing physicians, two for the terms of two years, two for the term of four years, and two shall be elected biennially thereafter for the term of four years, which said four regular practicing physicians, together with the mayor, the chairman of the finance committee of the board of aldermen, and the city engineer shall be and constitute the board of health of the city of Asheville: Provided, that the board of aldermen of the city shall have power to fill any vacaney that may occur in said board of health by death, removal, resignation or other cause.
