CHAPTER 108 An act to revise and improve the public school system of North Carolina. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The school committee of each district herein provided for, shall, before entering upon the duties of their office, take the oath of office as now prescribed by law for school committeemen, and shall, as soon after their election and qualification as practicable, not to exceed thirty days, meet and elect from their number a chairman and secretary, and shall keep a record of their proceedings in a book to be kept by them for that purpose. The name and address of the chairman and secretary of each district committee shall be reported to the secretary of the county board of education and recorded by him in a book kept for that purpose.
