CHAPTER 347 AN ACT TO ESTABLISH GATESVILLE GRADED SCHOOL DIS- TRICT AND PROVIDE FOR AN ELECTION FOR SPECIAL TAX THEREIN. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That the board of county commissioners of Gates County are hereby authorized and required to order an election on the second Tuesday in May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, after four weeks notice of said election by notices posted at three public places in said district at which shall be submitted to the qualified voters residing within said territory the question of levying on all polls and property therein an annual special tax, not to exceed forty -40 cents on each hundred dollars valuation of property and one dollar and twenty cents on each poll, for the support and maintenance of the public schools in said district: Provided, said board of trustees hereinafter provided for shall report to the board of county commissioners on the first day of June each year the amount to be levied in the district, not to exceed the amounts fixed.
