CHAPTER 211 AN ACT TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE REVISAL OF 1905, AND TO REGULATE THE PUBLIC PRINTING. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That section four thousand four hundred and eleven of the Revisal of one thousand nine hundred and five be amended so as to read as follows: 4411. Printed number. Not to exceed eight hundred copies each of the annual or biennial reports of the several departments of the State Government shall be printed, a copy of each of these to be furnished to each of the members and officers of the General Assembly, one copy to each State officer, and five copies to the State Librarian for filing, the remaining copies to be distributed in the discretion of the officer making such report: Provided, that the Printing Commission may permit the publication of a greater number of reports if in their judgment the same are necessary. The reports and publications of every kind now authorized or required to be printed by the several State departments and State institutions shall be as compact and concise as is consistent with an intelligent understanding of the work of the department. The details of the work of the departments shall not be printed when not necessary to an intelligent understanding of the work of the departments, but totals and results shall be tabulated and printed in said reports. It shall be the duty of the Governor and Council of State, the Attorney-General, and the Commissioner of Labor and Printing to determine what details of the work of any department or State institution shall be printed. The details shall be kept on file and subject to the inspection of the public.
