CHAPTER 347 AN ACT TO ESTABLISH THE ROCKDALE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That the board of county commissioners of Scotland : County are hereby authorized and required to order an election | within forty-five days after the ratification of this act; that thirty days notice of said election shall be posted at the postoffice in Gibson, at Pates Mill, and at some public place in that portion of the above described territory lying east of Joes Creek; that at such election there shall be submitted to the qualified voters residing within said territory the question of levying on all property and polls therein an annual special tax, not to exceed forty cents on each hundred dollars valuation of property and one dollar and twenty cents on each poll, for the support and. maintenance of the public schools in said district.
