CHAPTER 55 AN ACT TO EXTEND THE TIME FOR LOADING RAILROAD _ GARS FOR SHIPMENT BEFORE DEMURRAGE MAY BE CHARGED. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That no railroad or transportation company doing business in the State of North Carolina shall make any charge on account of demurrage, or while a car, whether the same be a refrigerator car or not, is being loaded for shipment, until the same shall have remained at the place of loading for forty-eight hours from the time it has been so placed: Provided, that the Corporation Commission considers such to be reasonable; and if the Corporation Commission considers such to be unreasonable, then it may prescribe rules regulating the matters mentioned in this section.
