CHAPTER 63 AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF BENSON, NORTH CAROLINA. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The board of commissioners shall on the first Thursday night after the election in May meet in the mayors office, and after being duly qualified by taking the oath prescribed by law for such commissioners before the mayor or some justice of the peace, elect one of their number chairman, which chairman shall act as mayor pro tem. in the absence of the mayor.
