CHAPTER 318 AN ACT TO REGULATE THE PRACTICE OF GENERAL CONTRACTING. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Any one hereafter desiring to be licensed as a general eontractor in this State shall make a written application for examination to said board on such form as is prescribed by the board, which application shall be accompanied by twenty dollars ($20). If said application is satisfactory to the board, then the applicant shall be entitled to an examination to determine his qualifications. If the result of the examination of any applicant shall be satisfactory to the board, then the board shall issue to the applicant a certificate to engage as a general contractor in the State of North Carolina. Any one failing to pass such examination may be rexamined at any regular meeting of the board without additional fee. Certificate of license shall expire on the last day of December following their issuance or renewal and shall become invalid on that date unless renewed. Renewal may be effective any time during the month of January by the payment of a fee of ten dollars ($10) to the secretary of the board.
