CHAPTER 18 AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE HISTORIC MURFREESBORO COM- MISSION. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

The Historic Murfreesboro Commission shall consist of the following ex officio members: the Mayor of the Town of Murfreesboro, the President of Chowan College, the chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Hertford County, and the director of the State Department of Archives and History, or a deputy designated by each of the aforesaid ex officio members. In addition, the Commission shall include thirty members to be appointed by the Governor, six for a term of two years, six for a term of three years, six for a term of four years, and six for a term of five years, and as the terms of each group expire, their successors shall be appointed for full five-year terms. The Governor is authorized to fill any vacancies in the terms of the appointed members.
