CHAPTER 312 AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR ELECTION IN THE TOWN OF MAIDEN, UPON THE QUESTION OF ADOPTING PLAN D-CITY MANAGER FORM OF GOVERNMENT. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

In the event Plan D-City Manager form of government is adopted, then all the provisions of Part 4 of Article 22, Chapter 160 of the General Statutes, entitled Plan D. Mayor, City Council and City Manager, shall become effective as to the Town of Maiden, except G. S. 160-339, as it relates to elections, G. S. 160-340 and G. S. 160-345. Provided, however, that the governing body of the Town shall continue to be known as the Board of Aldermen rather than the City Council, and the mayor and members of the Board of Aldermen shall continue to be elected as now provided by law.
