CHAPTER CXXIII. AN AC? TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF EDENTON. Wuernras, It is the interest of every state to regulate the police of its towns and encourage their trade, and the laws heretofore made for regulating the town of Edenton have, in many instances, proved detective and inconvenient :
How vacancy to be supplied, &e.: That should any one of said officers before the annual election resign, die or remove from town, such vacancy shall be supplied as follows, viz: by the choice of the commissioners, a majority of the same voting; said officer to be qualified as if duly elected.
