CHAPTER 307 An act to consolidate and revise the charter of the city of Winston. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact :

That the aldermen shall cause to be kept clean and in good repair the streets, sidewalks and alleys. They may establish the width and ascertain the location of those already established and lay out and open others, and may widen or reduce the width of streets now established in their discretion. They may establish parks for pleasure*grounds for the citizens of the city and pass ordinances for the protection of shade trees.
