CHAPTER 404 AN ACT RELATIVE TO ESTABLISHING A DISPENSARY IN THE TOWN OF BETHEL, PITT COUNTY. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That upon the petition of one-third of the qualified voters of the town of Bethel, which petition shall be submitted on or before March first, one thousand nine hundred and eight, or biennially thereafter, an election shall be held in the town. of Bethel on the first Monday in April, one thousand nine hundred and eight, or biennially thereafter, at which election the question of the continuance of the dispensary or the establishment of prohibition in the town of Bethel shall be submitted to the qualified voters residing in said town of Bethel; that at said election those favoring the continuance of the dispensary shall vote a ballot on which shall be written or printed the words For Dis- pensary, and those for prohibition shall vote a ballot on which | shall be written or printed the words For Prohibition; that if | a majority of the ballots cast shall be For Dispensary, then said dispensary shall be continued; but if a majority of the ballots cast shall be For Prohibition, then prohibition shall be established; and whenever such elections are held they shall be ; conducted and held under the provisions of law regulating municipal elections. 4
